I've been searching for 4 years (yes, four!) for a long-sleeved, high-necked formal gown that wasn't completely boring or dowdy-looking. At last, here it is! I LOVE this dress. It actually looks even better in real life than it does in the online photos.
It somehow manages to be fun, classy, feminine, light-hearted and most definitely unique, all at the same time. As soon as I slipped it on, I knew it was the one. I had been concerned that it might feel too heavy or confining, but the material is feather-light and the ruffles float as you move. It's extremely comfortable to wear and also not too hot, which is a big consideration for me.
I had also been concerned that it might look a little too "busy" with all those flowers, but nope, it looks great.
I ordered a size 8, which is my usual size in most dresses. It fits perfectly across the shoulders and bust line, but is a little too wide through the hips, so I will need to have it taken in a wee bit. However looking at the Tadashi size guide, I would say that it conforms closely to the measurements listed there. If I had ordered the size 6 it would have been too tight across the shoulders, so I think I made the right decision in going with the 8.
Thank you Tadashi Shoji for creating such a delightful gown. I'm going to have so much fun wearing it and I hope it will bring a smile to others' faces, as it has to mine.
